Getting African American Males Educated (G.A.M.E.)
The mission of the G.A.M.E. initiative is to create a sense of community and self awareness among black males while focusing on the importance of education. Mentors from various walks of life are partnered with the students during the G.A.M.E. events to help accomplish this all important mission.

"A new initiative to help Roanoke’s graduation rate"
is an initiative in conjunction with the NBA (National Basketball Association) teams. Students from around nation are selected by their high school guidance counselors to participate in G.A.M.E initiative. The selected students hear presentations from various black male professionals, meet and are photographed with NBA players, complete the EDU, Inc. Common Black College Application and watch a NBA game.
New Hope Support Services along with Vice-Mayor Sherman Lea, Sr. have partnered with G.A.M.E. founder Robert Mason to bring the G.A.M.E. initiative to the youth of the Roanoke Valley. High school students enrolled in New Hope Support Services Mentoring Program are eligible to participate in the G.A.M.E. initiative.
In March 2009, G.A.M.E. Roanoke participants saw a Washington Wizards game. G.A.M.E. Roanoke 2010 plans are underway, more information will follow.
